I had the pleasure of meeting Susie and Justin briefly at a local bridal showcase and although the meeting was brief I was struck by the fact that they were both gorgeous and had an adorable connection. I was ecstatic when Susie contacted me for an engagement session, and after a few emails back and forth we agreed on Stern Grove Park in San Francisco. Talk about a gorgeous backdrop! I enjoyed my time shooting this adorable couple and their adorable pooch. This was also the first time I attempted to shoot film and I knew I was in love as soon as I got the scans back. It was a perfect day to capture their lovely connection. Wishing Susie and Justin a wonderful future together in 2016!

After a chance meeting at a bar these two had no idea they lived only two blocks from each other most of their lives. Megan and Chris hit it off and they knew they had something, and sparks flew. Chris proposed in the comfort of their home and now these two are just months away from their special day.
Megan and Chris wanted to take advantage of the privacy that the San Ramon Tassajara School House had to offer. The school house is surrounded by large walnut trees and picnic tables, perfect for a quiet afternoon out. It was an overcast day with glimmers of sunshine peeking through the clouds. Chap the dog was ready for his cameo with his coordinated bowtie matching his parents. Megan and Chris were adorable as they brought love, romance and lot’s of chemistry at this beautiful fall engagement session.
These lovebirds first met through a Facebook group, and after deciding to meet at a mixer soon after have been going strong every since. They knew they wanted a future together and Dethrick decided he couldn’t wait another day when he popped the question while watching one of their favorite tv shows winding down for the night.
Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA was the perfect backdrop for Daceia and Dethricks fall engagement session. Both wearing beautiful greens they looked amazing in the gorgeous wooded area that provided their session backdrop. It was apparent that this was one of “those” couples. You know the ones that look at each other and giggle, can’t keep their hands off each other, kind of couple. I loved every minute of this shoot, they way they connected, how he looked at her and the way he was able to make her smile. I am so looking forward to shooting their Valentine’s Day wedding of love!
As my client I sometimes challenge you. I ask you to go into territory you are not familiar with. Sometimes it can be a trek into the snow, a hike onto uneven ground, or even more, a trip into yourself. I may pose you and have you interact in a way that makes you giggle or blush all to draw something beautiful out of you from the inside, more then just your gorgeous smile and amazing eyes. I will ask you to close your eyes, take a deep breath and then blow it out and let your shoulders sink as you do, now open those eyes right to me. I may tell you to think of something or ask your love to tell you something in your ear that will make you blush and to get that giggle he or she can draw from you. I may tell you to suck in your core and tooch your booty out to give you a sexy curve, or put all your weight into one leg or the other. I may even say something a little inappropriate to make you draw up your eye brows and give me a look of “did she just say that?” and then we will laugh, and snap there is your image. You can sometimes hear me saying, even just to myself,”you look so hot!, you are so gorgeous, you look handsome, that shirt makes your eyes pop, oh my goodness you guys are setting my camera on fire.” All things I say in the moment from an honest place of what I see. But I realize that this type of vulnerability comes from a place of trust between you and I and only once you have opted in for the journey.
I have had numerous amounts of you tell me, “I am not photogenic”, really? Neither am I! So we are in this together. My job is to earn your trust so that you will take a journey with me into a place where you will show me the real you, because that my friend is true beauty. I am not just a photographer taking pretty pictures, but an artist passionate about my craft.
Hi friends! How can I even begin, every time I try I get all misty and chocked up, so I thought I would share with you what I have seen…the growth! Images are not in date order but it is so fun to see all the wonderful clients who trusted me to photograph their moments. Some of you knowingly hiring even though I was brand new and didn’t know up from down. Many of you based it off of friendship and just wanted to help a sista out! Others just saw the hard work and knew I would work really really hard to capture your day and make your important memories a priority. Whatever it was that sent you to me, I want to thank you for the wonderful lovely opportunity you gave me to allow my creative side to shine.
I could write a million thank you’s to all the fellow photogs, family and friends who supported me but I will save you from the 500 worded blog, lol. I know my business is powered by Christ, and my hubs who has taken on a role in our house that allows me to be able to do my thing on the weekends. My lovely son who is always pushing me to be better and telling me truth when he see’s something not right, my sister who seriously reads all my blogs, my mama who came up with the word Embrace which is now a permanent part of my branding, and my God, who keeps my grounded spiritually and mentally.
Now let’s check out the year in review for Ty Pentecost Photography
Sometimes being a supportive friend gets you the prize in the end. Andrew was a supportive friend to Christine as she went through a few trials and changes in life. After meeting at the local grocer, that they both worked, they became fast friends. Rather then a date Christine needed a friend, and when the timing was right these friends took their friendship to the next level, and soon romance was blooming.
Christine knew something was up last New Years Eve when Andrew was all dressed up for their dinner reservations and she just knew the proposal was coming, but by the time desert was done and no proposal she started to think maybe she had gotten it wrong. Andrew knows Christine well and already had it planned to propose that evening at home, and when he finally did Christine was so shocked she took the ring and shook her head no to the proposal, wait what??!! Fella’s when you shock your lady you really never know what is going to come out.
Christine and Andrew were so adorable at this engagement session at the lovely Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa, CA. It was a beautiful fall day with just enough sun to counter the cool air. The mutual respect they had for one another came through numerous times throughout our session, and I can say being friends first has paid off for these two. I loved seeing the connection and I am so excited to capture their lifetime commitment to one another this year.
